being three

wasn't it great when all you had to worry about was if your knickers matched your wellies! {not that she's bothered}

a 'little' knitting

i'd had a fathers day post all planned out - but sunday didn't quite go to plan {maybe i'll get around to posting about it this week} so thought i would post about the rather sweet little baby knit i finished up recently, my two little ones are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first cousin & i am loving the excuse to knit something quick & tiny

i've knit this pattern a few times before, it's great, quick & easy & you get a rather dapper little cardi at the end, i can't give too much info on this one apart from the pattern, as i'd used some yarn up-cycled from one of little O's lightly worn cardigans & have no idea what it was! oops

dresden flower placemat

another quick project to use up the fabric scraps, although i think i had enlarged the pattern more than was called for, as the placemat came out rather large, in fact if i'd added some wadding it would have made a rather lovely chair cushion! ho-hum, it will look pretty under a vase of flowers or as a table centre piece, i followed the pattern from the book 'quilting in no time' by Emma Hardy {which i had picked up at a great price from the book people through our pre-school} i love these quick 'pick me up' projects & they are a great way to use up some of the many fabric scraps i've collected

makings

i've been a bit sporadic on the making front recently, i'm still slogging away with the big cardi for the hubs but have been cheering myself up with a few quick little makes in between,
jubilee wip
along with some fabric scraps & a few odd vintage buttons, this little bundle was turned into some jubilee bunting for our tent, it did get a little soggy but it cheered me up, the ribbons were from here
jubilee bunting i have also recently crocheted a few coasters for a friend i work with, these were so nice & quick to make, i used some rowan bamboo tape i'd brought yonks ago, which worked really well for this project, the pattern i'd found via here
flower coasters
we've been snugged up at home today as the school have an inset day, but making cookies & getting cosy to watch a film have kept the small folk happy & i've been able to start a little baby knitting for a nephew due any day now

just about recovered

we really didn't pick the best week for a camping trip - not that the children noticed {they in fact got very upset when we decided to come home a day early} still it wasn't all bad, the children crossed a few things of their things to do before your 10 lists, we spent time with friends keeping warm round the campfire, we would love to go back to wowo again, but maybe with a little more sunshine next time!
