buon compleanno a me

getting ready for a little trip {bet can you guess where?} i shall be leaving my knitting needles at home this time & taking books instead {as i got given lots this morning} hoping i'll find some time to sneak off for a little quiet time, i have however knitted some really sweet little hats this week, one for my new little nephew & one for my not so little O, a very quick & easy hat pattern, worked up in the most beautiful noro kochoran, which i was lucky enough to pick up from ebay at a great sale price,

teachers presents

my little O has broken up from pre-school & will be making the big leap to school in September, my emotions are a little all over the place about this, but for now i'm just looking forward to sharing the next seven weeks with her, i wanted to make a farewell gift for all her pre-school teachers {not including myself that's seven in all!} so it really needed to be a quick easy gift,

these lined drawstring bags were just ideal, little O helped me to choose which fabrics were to be for which teacher {all from fabrics i've got stashed away - so not too sure what some of them are} she also insisted we had to put something in the bags, her idea being chocolates, they were fun to make & i think {fingers crossed} they were appreciated by all, i used the great tutorial from here

wellie walk

feeling rather fed up & depressed with all the rain lately i was keen for us all to get out the house today, so with wellies & waterproofs on we headed out & were rewarded with a rather muddy but mostly sunny walk, i feel so lucky to have some truly beautiful countryside right on my doorstep - in less then five minutes walk from our front door we can be in the middle of fields or woodland, Barney was at his happiest, the children didn't complain once {& had a great game of hide & seek in the woods - we only lost Barney the once!} we even came home via the pub! i have been busy knitting {the boring man-sized jumper} & sewing lots {end of term teachers presents} i'll share when i can!
